In <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/GURPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GURPS</span></a>, even the rules themselves are a sandbox! Take what you want and ignore the rest!</p>
Christer Enfors<p>I realized something about <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/GURPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GURPS</span></a> today.</p><p>I prefer my <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a> games to be sandboxes. I want to play/GM in a world where PCs can go anywhere, and do anything.</p><p>And what I realized is that <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/GURPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GURPS</span></a> takes that concept even further, because it does away with the restraints of classes in <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/DND" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DND</span></a>, <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/PathFinder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PathFinder</span></a>, and similar games. <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/GURPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GURPS</span></a> turns your PC itself into a sandbox.</p><p>You got bored of being a fighter? Okay, just leave the Fighters' Guild and join the Paladins and train with them instead!</p>
Christer Enfors<p>After having flipped through my basic <a href="https://ttrpg-hangout.social/tags/GURPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GURPS</span></a> Characters book, I've come to realize what I think is the problem with GURPS adaption.</p><p>Most people say it's very crunchy, and I'm sure that's a factor. But what really stood out to me when it comes to character creation, is that there are SO MANY OPTIONS because of the classless nature of it. ANYTHING in the book could be relevant to the character you're creating, meaning you should read basically ALL OF IT in order to be able to make a character.</p>
