Rock Creek Canyon survey today revealed that I could not ski much past our 2200m campground start. Had to turn back, then put on hiking boots. We hiked 5K in, then soft slush on the road got too deep, at 2350m. Would have been good skiing there, but more bare spots would be further up. Warm 18C when we finished, but cool down next several days, more snow . Glad my left leg held up, but did not want post-holing, would have set back recovery. #climate #hiking #skiing #dogs #montana #gye

Happy Equinox when Gaia stands upright and 12 hrs. of sunlite shine upon the wicked and just alike. Could only do a short ski in Rock Crk. Canyon SW of town, nearly blew out left knee running Tue., slipping on ice. Sundance/Otter pulled me down, all collapsed, but recovered in time . Stiff/swollen a bit, but didn't pop anything. So skied around campgrounds/low areas, only 10K or so. Not as much new snow here from earlier this week. Windy 2C, but good glide. #skiing #winter #dogs #climate #gye
