Dr. Fortyseven 🥃 █▓▒░
The "sports team" mentality is smothering this country.

I was going over the replies to my post in /r/Connecticut with my photos from the local #HandsOff rally on Saturday; the majority of responses were quite supportive.

But it's clear from a lot of the handful of, uh, "dissenting opinions" on this march, that a lot of Trumpers just kind of accept their news as presented, unchallenged, and literally believe we're in favor of corruption ...apparently? (Which is rich as fuck from these particular folks.)

It's like when faced with an outrageous claim, the question _"Is it true?"_ never crosses their mind.

You can be damned sure if I'd witnessed Biden or Obama doing what Trump and Musk are doing right now, I'd have been out there protesting against them, too. The right doesn't seem to understand that idea.

But I also get the impression that a majority of them simply don't _actually_ care. Some pretend to. They get dramatically up in arms over XYZ, unless their side is doing XYZ, then it's downplayed heavily, if noted at all.

The right's often easily-discredited lies and exaggerations dumped into the news cycle often both confirm their existing suspicions, and/or it "makes the libs mad", so they don't really care if if something is true or not. Truth is an irritant that tends to be irrelevant as long as "their team is winning" by believing it and spreading the word.

And I have zero doubt the 'smarter' sleazebags, the ones usually wearing suits and ties, are fully aware of that and regularly exploiting it.

I doubt the left is impervious to this mentality, either -- it's probably a 'human' behavior more than anything.

But I can't help but notice all the willfully callous stupidity, and lack of compassion for anyone but themselves unless it affects them directly (see also /r/LeopardsAteMyFace/), is something I'm overwhelmingly seeing from folks on the right.

#uspol
