DC Books to PrisonsOne of the baffling and frustrating things about our work is that people sometimes donate to us <a href="https://bookstodon.com/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#books</a> that don't actually belong to them! The books in question are <a href="https://bookstodon.com/tags/library" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#library</a> books, often borrowed from school <a href="https://bookstodon.com/tags/libraries" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#libraries</a>. We aren't sure why people do this. Whatever the reason, donating checked-out library books to us basically puts us in the position of owning stolen property.
