Alpha1Nine :funkwhale: :sofia:<p>In his first response to the <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Trump" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Trump</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Putin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Putin</span></a> call, President <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Zelensky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zelensky</span></a> made clear he would support any end to <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Russian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Russian</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/attacks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>attacks</span></a> on his country’s <a href="https://aus.social/tags/energy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>energy</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/infrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>infrastructure</span></a>. </p><p>That is no surprise because it was part of his own plan. But that’s the key point: the Russian offer is only part of the interim ceasefire plan the US and Ukraine had agreed.</p><p>Putin, he said, was still setting out “additional conditions” before he would agree a ceasefire and that showed Russia was “not ready to finish this war”.</p><p>Zelensky insisted Western powers would continue giving Ukraine military aid – despite Russian demands that they stop. </p><p>And he also said Russian demands for <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Ukraine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ukraine</span></a> to be prevented from rearming during a ceasefire was just designed to weaken its armed forces.</p><p>As Zelensky gave his press briefing, <a href="https://aus.social/tags/airraid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>airraid</span></a> sirens rang out across Kyiv.
