Bicycling Monterey 💚🌎🌍🌏<p>Use of a rearview mirror is far from a unanimous practice of people who bike. Many riders don’t use any sort of rearview mirror until they are hit by a car, or nearly are. While not a bicycle equipment requirement by California law (yet), having a rearview mirror is smart!</p><p>There are companies selling rearview mirrors of various types, e.g., bar-end, handlebar-mounted, helmet-mounted, glasses-mounted.</p><p>This month we’ve been trying out TriEye—glasses with an integrated mirror in the lower corner of the lens that allows seeing behind you with a tilt of your head. (And yes, with respect to biking in a country with left-hand vs right-hand traffic flow, TriEye has options for both left-side and right-side mirrors.) For more info, visit <a href="https://trieye.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">trieye.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>.</p><p>Of course they take a little getting used to—and very soon they feel natural. Most importantly, wearing the TriEye absolutely makes us feel safer in traffic!</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TrafficSafety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TrafficSafety</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/ActiveTransportation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ActiveTransportation</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/cycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cycling</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/biking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>biking</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/traffic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>traffic</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/RearViewMirrorForBicycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RearViewMirrorForBicycles</span></a></p>
