Jamie - Spectrum is Green
Here's my #Introduction.

I'm Jamie. As in Magic Torch. If you grok that then we reach. I'm from Birmingham, England. As in Black Sabbath and Jasper Carrott. No, I don't have the accent.

So many sites and services are getting full of AI garbage and other poisonous junk; that isn't my bag, baby. I value positive, polite, respectful responses from my social media. Twitter and LinkedIn ain't those kind of places any more. So here I am.

And as a valued colleague said, "You need somewhere to share who you are and the great stuff you do."

At work I’m a Unified Communications engineer - I do stuff with phones and things that make & receive calls. I get plenty of positive feeddback. I'm ITIL 4 foundation certified, if that's your bag.

Got a whole bunch of experience including Novell servers (CNA certified), Siemens UNIX, Windows server. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, corporate website content management. Developing and delivering training courses. Panasonic, InDeX, Avaya and Cisco fax, VOIP and analogue Telephony, announcement and voice work, Android and Apple smart devices.

Outside work I'm a critical illness survivor and accessibility advocate. Disability is a spectrum - my disability story is one of many, all of them deserve to be heard.

Since 1995 I have been challenging the NHS over its failures and since 2008 I've been challenging public transport operators to improve accessibility for disabled people. I write to MPs and government committees when there are issues which I feel need their attention. The vile racism at Yorkshire CCC and in cricket, ableism in transport, NHS failures being three recent issues.

I'm a cricket nuffy and a darts nerd. My Wisden Almanack collection goes back over 50 years. My oldest darts set dates from 1988. I'm a classic 1960s and 70s television fantasy series fan, a retro tech lover who has been known to nerd out about joysticks, a rock and metal fan since I was 16.

Whilst the sci fi communities have fantastic LGBTQI* representation, there isn't much in the men's cricket space at professional levels. As I told the ICEC commission investigation. LGBTQI* acceptance needs to improve in all sports, including cricket and darts.

I haven't seen much in the way of LGBTQI* rock clubs and rock nights. The rock nights I was regular at were welcoming and supportive but they weren't in dedicated LGBTQI spaces.

I'm a husband just clocked up ten years of marriage to my wife and a cat daddy.

I know my yorikiri from my shitatenage.

I have been a model, a rock DJ, a sports commentator, a singer, an opening bat, an off spinner with guile and flight, a speaker on subjects I'm knowledgeable about, and a bunch of other things I've forgotten.

That's me in a nutshell. Maybe I'll put some of this on a website.

#Introduction
