HarriettMB<p>I bet he isn’t sorry really. The rationale behind this budget and other financial decisions made by the Chancellor, and previous chancellors is clearly that they believe we all have some kind of magic money tree, and hidden incomes that we live on; only accessing our ‘pocket money’ for kicks. <br>I think it’s time there was a televised test for aspiring politicians [renewable every ten years] that they must live in the circumstances and the incomes they expect the rest of us to - with no external support from family or associates. Live in a suitable rundown property with an unpleasant landlord, high rent, poor access to public transport, penalties for turning up late, etc. And they must do so for a minimum of six months. <br>His ‘pocket money’ comment shows how completely divorced from reality these politicians are. <a href="https://beige.party/tags/UKPol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UKPol</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/LINO" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LINO</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Austerity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Austerity</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Labour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Labour</span></a> <br><a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crkngrv14myo" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crkngr</span><span class="invisible">v14myo</span></a></p>
