Bob<p>Injury update post MRI. Physio surprised to see no Haglund’s deformity. He’s pointing out the issue - multiple small tears in the Achilles. There’s a small cyst too and some associated bursitis, but this is fixable with no surgery. Some eccentric loading on the offending foot to stimulate collagen production to repair the tendon and I should be sorted in 3-4 months. Aaron Toponce ⚛️:debian:<p>I don't know which boundaries are "correct", but as an observation, Stryd's are more uniform than TrainingPeaks.</p><p>It seems TrainingPeaks is more forgiving on what counts as productive training. But TrainingPeaks is also stricter on "race readiness", giving you a tighter window to make sure you're not losing fitness.</p><p>Both platforms have thousands of users. Aaron Toponce ⚛️:debian:<p>I'm raining for the Grand Canyon R2R2R. Curious about the productivity of my training, I plotted it.</p><p>As a runner, I train primarily by power using my Stryd foot pod. As such, Stryd will score each run with a running stress score. I can then calculate the weighted and unweighted rolling 7-day and 42-day averages. From there, I can get the stress balance.</p><p>Stryd defines their productivity training boundaries different than TrainingPeaks. One of our crew dropped out with the lurgy so we spent some time on boat maintenance and polishing finishing in time for the Parkrun start. <br>I've still got a head cold lingering and my legs are feeling heavy and sore from Wednesday so wasn't expecting much more than a steady run. JD<p>It’s taken a few weeks to adjust to the discomfort, but higher intensity training is paying off.</p><p>Ran a tempo up a local peak and almost broke 60 minutes for the 4.1mi/1400’ round trip. This morning was 7x1:10 intervals a few bpm above LT, followed by a quick lift session.
