There are no historical documents within mainstream #Christianity that support the idea of the Holy Spirit being plural.

While early theological debates explored various interpretations of God’s nature, these discussions did not suggesting plurality within any single Person of the Trinity.

Nontrinitarian views exist but generally reject the Trinity altogether rather than proposing a plural Holy Spirit.

There I was, the #heresiarch in #heresy.

I'm working on an original translation of the Bible. My goal is to let the words of scripture guide my translation rather than reading a favored theology into the text. As the saying goes, "Where the Bible speaks, we speak, where it is silent, we are silent." In addition to being a formal equivalence, I try to preserve original idioms (with clarification in the footnotes), poetic and metaphorical language, and distinct synonyms (ie. land/ground/dust) where possible.

The text is available under a Creative Commons license. And it is available at a website, and as an ebook, though it is still incomplete.

God is Love.
Period.
No terms and conditions.
Just Love.
Let that Gospel radicalize you.

For many, the idea of being radicalized by the Gospel is a foreign concept, so let me put it plainly. It means God didn't call you to sit in a pew. God called you to be Love in this world. To be his hands that heal, his feet that walk among the poor and dispossessed, his eyes that watch over every sparrow, every person whose pain goes overlooked. It means standing with striking workers, it means feeding the poor, clothing the homeless, providing sanctuary to those who flee oppression. Being a Christian is not about reciting Bible verses, it's about making a difference to people in need.

But if you need a Bible verse,
"Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other." Mark 9:49-50.

Now go light your world.

And finally, new data from Nameberry says people in red states are giving their kids the classic Jewish name Cohen (sometimes with the spelling Kohen). Our @CultureDesk featured this Forward story by Benyamin Cohen and Mira Fox, who are trying to figure out why. Theories include that people are naming their children after the directing duo the Coen brothers, or that it’s a co-opting by Christians of Jewish traditions. Says Benyamin: “I think it’s clever to give pets human names. We have chickens and each one is named after an NPR broadcaster. We have Terry Gross, Yuki Noguchi, Nina Totenberg and so on. We’re actually on our third Melissa Block. The first two, alas, are in chicken heaven now.” Mira replies: “And they all, of course, have your last name.” Benyamin: “Yes, yes. We call them the Co-Hens. I wonder what Nameberry would think of that.”

To other #Christians, especially those who are #blind, are there any #accessible #Bible study tools or resources you'd recommend? One of my first assignments for #college at #ColoradoChristianUniversity is about fears relating to college, and I have to find Bible verses on fear. I've tried a few different websites like #BibleGateway and Youversion, but I'm having a hard time with the search functionality or there are #accessibility issues, so I'm wondering what tools others use.
