Full participation counts in today's nationwide (US) Hands Off protests are not yet in, though the numbers are seemingly approaching 2% of the ENTIRE US population.

Nonviolent protest movements engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

We have work to do.

5/5 Finally, a press release about the speech from #CoryBooker’s Senate website. The numbers are truly astounding — people who tuned in, liked on social media, and thank-you calls to Booker’s office.

As I said the other day: rank and file Dems and indie voters are hungry for this kind of leadership and action. Let’s hope Booker’s courage and fortitude prods other Dem electeds to follow suit.

3/5 From #NJSpotlightNews, which is public media and part of WNET but covers all of #NewJersey. (FYI its funding is being cut by 25% in Gov Murphy’s new budget 😡 — if you’re a NJ resident, text Murphy at 732-605-5455 to complain.)

"This isn’t just poetic justice—it’s a political redemption. The same tactics once used to block civil rights are now being wielded to defend them.

The record for the longest speech in Senate history no longer belongs to a segregationist. It belongs to a Black man fighting for democracy."

@markrsmith

I love it!
Let’s each DONATE $25.05 to Cory Booker in honor of the 25 hours and five minutes he eloquently spoke to remind Senators of their obligations to we the people!
Remember how inspired and proud you were (and are) because one of our Dems finally DID SOMETHING to protect we the people from the White House’ rapacious overreach⁉️
