#HappyBirthday to Michael Leshner, born OTD in 1948 in Niagara Falls, New York. As a lawyer who worked for the Ontario Government, he took his employer to court and fought for equal rights for the gay community. He and Michael Stark, the couple known as The Michaels, were the first men to be wed legally in Canada. The Ontario legal decision was not challenged by Ottawa and quickly spread across Canada.
