Meanwhile on Mars: Curiosity rover drove 18 meters further south into the canyon that it's traveling through to reach its next major science waypoint. With #LPSC2025 about to start, it's time to share what I've been working on during the last months.
This is a new high resolution 3D model of the Mont Mercou outcrop, that I made during my recent internship at LPG Nantes.
Curiosity's latest workspace imaged on mission sol 4471 (March 5, 2025 ) after a drive of 19.6 meters (64.4 ft). This composite image is roughly assembled from 15 overlapping L-MastCam subframe images, the images were Bayer reconstructed prior to assembly.
