Every subway station here in Toronto has a different artistic theme. For this one, bricks and rocks reign.

This photo shows about two dozen rough rocks of various sizes, from one small enough to hold in your hand to ones large enough to sit on, that have been placed in concrete. The concrete is formed into a circle and has been installed into a red brick wall.

A brave person could stand on the rim of the concrete and either have their head touch the top of the circle if they were tall or reach up to touch it if they were short.

The rocks in this art installation are various shades of grey, brown, pink, off-white, and even a couple of orange ones.

The exhibit looks a little dirty because, well, it is. Toronto is not the tidiest city in a month as muddy and rainy as April, but the bits of dirt here and there gives it character.

The ornamented marble looks ancient, and probably is - many buildings in this area have their foundations in the 1200s - which contrasts with the much more modern plaster bits, and a thin white cable which runs horizontally along the bottom of the frame.
