The #church was completed in 1736 at the same time when the construction of the Quinta Real de Caxias, just down the road, began. The church's imposing #baroque limestone facade is copied from the Church of the Charterhouse of Évora and the Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, in Rome.

In 2012, the film Night Train to Lisbon with Jeremy Irons was partially filmed here.

The #eclectic palace was built between 1701 and 1734 and then purchased by Henrique Burnay, 1st Count of Burnay. It has undergone numerous renovations thru history and most recently was used as a college.

After being vacant for several years, the palace is undergoing another renovation and the company Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, will manage the museum's architectural heritage, and be housed in it.
