The front end for the new EV Dodge Charger looks really bad to me. What have they done?
I know the designers are harking back to the classic rectangular grille of vintage Chargers, but…this ain’t it. The running light bar looks like an elongated U recessed into a thick bumper. Besides, the front end is far too thick and bulbuous to pull this design off properly.
I think what turns me off the most is that there is a distinct break in the light bar, right where the clear headlight housing ends. This break irritates me because it makes the light bar look perpetually misaligned, like there were two cheap assembly errors in every front end.
And another thing: the sides of the car lack any design features—it’s just a bulbuous curve all the way. At least the outgoing model recalls the C-shaped indentations of the original.
Anyway, I think Dodge whiffed on this design.
