Okay, I'm calling the background on this one finished. Because I can keep fiddling with it forever, but I've run out of meaningful ways to actually improve it at the moment.
Time to draw the dragons next.
Original Space Fox 2 illustration to show how much different this remake is. I hope it'll be actually better and not just different.
Salish Sea Sunrise - 9th session
Light was good today so I worked more on this piece. I'm about 11 hours into this piece. I need now to stare at it for a few days (the weekend) to plan my next moves.
Aether is sketched! Up next, I get to design another aircraft and then draw it twice. Then a bunch of research on Mars colony ideas.
So! I'm breaking one of my rules for this series with this drawing.
I'm doing this because my rules restricted the ways I could position the Aether for each composition, and I wanted each illustration to be unique, which gets harder with each additional illustration.
The rule I'm breaking:
Never show Space Fox's body.
I mean, it's pretty obvious in general that she's just a regular grey fox. But I didn't want to explicitly show it. I guess I ended up having to.
Playing with some Voronoi and cellular inspiration for today's #inkyDays drawing. It didn't turn out great. Oh well. I'm a bit distracted by the fact that it's the one year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. The beginning of my survival journey.
Here's a getting started photo.

Salish Sea Sunrise - 8th session. My brushes and paints finally arrived late this afternoon. While I still had some light I worked another hour, bringing this project to ten hours.
Now comes staring at the water and the clouds to paint little tiny details until I either go cross-eyed or get a migraine.
They are starting to come together! And I can't wait to make them cum together...
Still deciding if this will be the final version or not but im working on a new logo for my self
(also getting in some practice with designing this since ill be making a few more soon)
Chicken Fire Mage - Five hours of work now. I need at least one more to paint in the background.
Salish Sea Sunrise - I worked another hour on this piece, for a total of nine hours. Now I really need my art supplies to show up. At last look they are in Joseph City, Arizona.
My birthday is coming up next week, so I decided to do a little something for myself this week! Gonna draw all my favorite bois, just for me!
O último desenho qu eu fiz em 2024. Uma figueira benjamin! Tentei fazer igual a foto de referência, mas a cena não coube toda no papel.

BUG MAGNETS
4/5 of the first handmade felt magnet prototypes have been assembled and I am so excited to make the last one!
These will be available through two listings: beetles and moths, allowing you to get them individually, or as a set.
I’m really really proud of them and I really can’t wait to release them into the world!
Chicken Fire Mage - four hours of work now. One of the rare times when I'm drawing in the middle of the day.
Salish Sea Sunrise - I worked another hour on this piece today for a total of eight hours.
I'm still waiting for the new paints (various purples) and brushes (thin ones for details) so I'm doing what I can in the areas that don't need the new supplies.
Un petit dessin de recherche, encore et toujours en réfléchissant à mes prochaines planches
Linear perspective is your friend when drawing aircraft. Depending on how you arrange the focal point and everything, you can make them look like they're going faster or slower. Or are closer or farther away from the camera. Perspective is weird.
