US-BLIGHT ON THE WORLD

The #Trump administration brings something important to mind, namely that the #US is a negative force in the modern world. It stands in the way of growth and fair societies everywhere.

No matter who is in charge, its global policies are imperialistic, interventionist, Neoliberal, and brutal. It is also the number one slaughterer of civilians in other countries since 1946. Further it betrays allies, violates international law with impunity, and breaks any agreement it signs.

When you think about it, the only country that needs the US is #Israel. The #US is mainly just a leech on the world and people everywhere don’t really need what it provides.

Boycott it. Kick its military out

Don’t send products to it, don’t invest in it, don’t start factories there, don’t send expertise to it, and don’t buy anything from it. Total boycott of the US is the best hope for the future

Martial Law

On or about April, 20 #fuhrer #trump will activate the Insurrection Act if 1807 and at the very least establish martial law on the US borders and points of entry.

Once the act is implemented in an area it is very easy to extend it and use it against anyone.

US border has been very tough on women of childbearing age. Whether it’s related to ‘birthright’ citizenship, human trafficking, suspected prostitution, or just plain bigotry is unknown.

#POC have been increasingly victims of this for about a year, to the point that the Japanese press has issued warnings. Any single Japanese woman with a large, stylish wardrobe has been suspected and many have been detained.

The fact that it has started with Canadians may be a related to this or (as Hitler did w/Austria) putting pressure on Canadians to long for #Anschluss.

Women should note that any reproductive medical care in the bulk of the US is risky due to abortion hysteria. Florida, Texas, Ohio, and the Mountain West are really dangerous

Trump modifications to Meta's moderation rules, 1/8

I remember reading articles about Meta giving in on Trump's so-called free speech demands in January - even before Trump was inaugurated. That said, I never went looking to the source, that is Meta's definition of "hateful conduct". Now, after having done so, it is glaringly obvious that Trump's (and Musk's) intolerant anti-woke agenda is directly reflected in the new rules.

Do US Democrats Secretly Love Musk

Lots of folks have bemoaned the Democrats’ lack of opposition to Trump and Musk.

Many have said that maybe it’s fear, confusion, or lack of leadership.

I propose another, simpler option. Namely, that the bulk of Democratic pols agree with what Trump and Musk are doing.

Just have to hear about Newsom, Carville, Durbin, former Team Obama (see below), etc to be suspicious

In my opinion it is best to start your #boycottus journey by picking the low-hanging fruit first. By this I mean services that are not subject to #networkeffect or #vendorlockin. This gives you easy wins and keeps up the motivation. Good examples are backup and file synchronization services, calendar applications, navigation applications, chat applications for teams and project management software.

My third principle is "prefer european", or more generally "prefer software developed in other democratic nations". This is mainly to reduce the political weaponization risk arising from the US. An added benefit is that over time the european software companies might become competitive with those originating from the US.
