Technical issues aside (That is a HUGE aside), #MonsterHunterWilds is pretty amazing. Rey Dau's pattern reminds me a lot of Flaming Espinas from MH Rise (My favorite fight in that game) but a lot more fierce. I am having a lot of fun with it!
#monsterHunterWilds update: I installed ReFramework mod and it helped a lot, but the game would still randomly glitch out (but it seemed to recover, unlike without the mod). The bigger problem was that it started randomly freezing more often. I finally set my game to the lowest possible settings and basically 720p resolution and it plays great, but looks like MH4 on my 3ds. I hope they can make it more stable when the start patching it!

Morning Folks! I've finished my initial pass at gearing in #MonsterHunterWilds and find myself in the weird place of feeling mostly "done" with the game for now, at least until new content drops in April.

well, Yesterday's optimism has become today's disappointment with #MonsterHunterWilds I have not had one clean round tonight - playing with the same settings as last night.
Finished farming my hunter tickets over lunch and crafted my t8 Arkveld weapon. In a good state now... at least until I get into the madness of Artian weapons.

alright - one more #MonsterHunterWilds on #linuxMint update for today. I just tried switching to Proton Experimental for the first time since release day, and on Medium settings I just played through an entire High Rank multiplayer mission with no mesh explosions, terrain glitches, or freezes for the first time! I hope that trend lasts.
Well, I am in the High Rank part of #MonsterHunterWilds and the technical issues have gotten much, much worse. On the plus side I am learning a lot about how to unfreeze Linux. apt install htop, dpkg-reconfigure console-setup (to get fonts to a readable size). Now I can ctrl-alt-F1 to get a terminal, use htop to kill the frozen process and then ctrl-alt-F7 to get back into the GUI. (or [Ctrl+Alt]+PrintScr->R->E->I->S->U->B if it is really borked!) #linuxGaming

Fifty Two and Farming Gear

#monsterHunterWilds - I am about 20 hours in so far and I am loving it. The biggest complaint about the game is how quickly it moves you on to the next area. I feel like I haven't properly explored the first area, but I am fairly sure I am nearing the end of the story. I know that MH games are more about the end game than the story, but the pacing on this feels vastly different than MH World or even Rise. That's just my take - it has still been an amazing game so far!
