The Green Herring

Here's an experiment done in response to recent news in the art world. Image 1 is what I scribbled right before work yesterday morning. Image 2 is what those simple shapes turned into after I came home and reopened my art app. This is proof that all you need to create strange worlds is your imagination, something genAI and its proponents can never possess or understand.

A bunch of crude, white, blocky shapes on a black background. There are two vaguely triangular shapes, a curved noodle, and an oval in the background; and in the foreground, there is a long, curving strip.
The previous image's crude shapes transformed into science fiction textmode artwork by living hands. On an alien world, in a patch of blue ground surrounded by tall blades of blue grass, two magenta prism-shaped creatures with one eye each amble toward a white serpentine creature with a cyan underbelly and pointed ears folded against its head. Behind the snake is a giant, golden egg surrounded by shorter blades of grass. Beside the creatures, a line of red soil borders a natural, bubbling acid bath.

Sometimes the simplest statements have the strongest force. The image is ostensibly a representation of the struggle to preserve life against the onslaught of the Berserker war machines described by Fred Saberhagen. 1/3

A monstrously large robot looms on the horizon while a simple plant sprouts defiantly from barren, rocky soil in the near foreground. The arms of the robot lurch forward with fingers tensed to grip, implying a sense of forward motion, marching toward the plant. While it's body resembles a stocky biped, it's head is an asymmetrical jumble, which on close examination looks like futuristic buildings set off-center right upon its shoulders. Stiff antennae protrude upward from head and shoulders. Red and orange eye-like lights are set akimbo, an uneven diagonal that adds to the sense of uneasiness about the mechanical monstrosity.
