Switch 2 reactions are 100% feral on youtube holy shit. People are more angry about a $450 console that, frankly, could not possibly cost less than $400 and is probably already pushing it pre-tarrifs, than they are about literal fascism.

And when fascism makes them raise the price, they'll still be more mad at Nintendo than the fascism. Sigh.

My personal beef is $90 digital games? fuck off. Not that I buy anything digital that I can get physical.

USA-based gamers who were prepared to suck up the already steep price tag and pre-order Nintendo's Switch 2 will have to wait. The Japanese brand has paused U.S. pre-orders in response to President Trump's tariffs. Here's more from @Kotaku.

Nintendo really went all in on anti-scalper measures and I applaud that. You can't even import or buy the multi-language Japanese Switch 2 edition while traveling in Japan. And at 69.980 ¥ or it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

Summary: The multilingual Nintendo Switch 2 console will be available exclusively from My Nintendo Store via lottery - if you are eligible. Only people with a Nintendo Account whose "Country/Region" is set to Japan, in addition, you must have played at least 50 hours of Nintendo Switch software (excluding trial and free software) as of Friday, February 28, 2025. Must have been a Nintendo Switch Online member for a cumulative total of at least one year at the time of entry and still be a member at the time of entry.

The #Switch2 might be the best advertising for the #SteamDeck you can get, at these price/performance points.

#Nintendo's first-party offerings are basically what keeps them afloat. Worked for the Wii and the original Switch, but it'll be interesting to see how Switch2 fares now that it's a) no longer filling a unique niche in the market, and b) they're getting greedy with the prices.

Tariff wars? Actual wars? Witnessing the collapse of the United States in real-time? Climate Change? Nah, some of us will be playing the Switchi 2. Of course, I'm going to have to sell feet pics to afford the darn thing and the games.
