I missed #MusiciansDay - so a day late here is my new release called "Painkiller".

The basics of this track were recorded from my hospital bed while recovering from major surgery. At the time I was on a cocktail of painkillers - hence the title. The track reflects my mental state at the time, coming in and out of consciousness.

There is one major theme that runs through the track - I couldn't get this out of my head - but it's fed through a variety of effects and distortion.

I had to do some mastering on the track as it was a bit of a sonic mess but hey what do you expect being high on painkillers?

What you hear is an OPZ providing the base track and Glo providing all the effects and distortion, recorded onto a Zoom H1 recorder - as I said all from the hospital bed.

Sup, I'm Kai.
I make music inspired mainly by the things I love.
What are those, you ask?
It's mainly VGM (Video Game Music), Rhythm Game music, and other high paced, complex genres, such as IDM and most of the "-core" genres.
I do mainly make to learn, though, so I'm always experimenting and trying new things! (i just made a microtonal track recently :WOWZA: )
Here's some of my most polished stuff as of late!

I can be found here, on my soundcloud ( soundcloud.com/kaiiak04 ) or at my spotify! ( open.spotify.com/artist/4pVZwS )

(and yes, this is an amongus song. No, I don't take my content too seriously at the moment. It isn't a job for me yet so why not have some fun?)

Apparently today is #MusiciansDay? That's cool.

If you'd like an #introduction to my music, here's my most popular song. :)

I tend toward retro-tinged #folkMusic, but my tastes are eclectic, and I hope it shows. Themes of #MentalHealth, #politics, and #spirituality come up often in my songs.

I love connecting with other #queer, #trans, #disabled, and otherwise kind folks here, so please reach out!

Ok, here's my #MusiciansDay pitch:

I make electronic music, but do try at times to give it a human touch (despite my appearance 🤖 )

Sometimes I dabble in making #DAWless music. This video gives you a good idea what that is like:

If you like your oontz a bit darker here is heaps of #industrial, ebm, powernoise, #synth, #dance, techno, dnb, house, noise, soundscapes, various dystopian bangers and noisier horrors. Most of my releases under various monikers from the past few decades and a few sound and loop libraries too.

Dig around there should be something tolerable.

Take what you'd like in #solidarity. If you have the means, a donation is very helpful and well received.

#MusiciansDay on the Fedi! :partyparrot:

I happened to put out something unusual for me today: a live recording and video of a protest song I wrote yesterday.

I usually make electronic music that's on the experimental side, but I've always loved playing guitar and singing for myself, and to write songs. My songs are almost never topical or political, and I don't usually release music this raw, but I guess I just needed to get it off my chest.
