As artists evolve, their music often does too. Such is the case with Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast. The indie band’s new release – “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)” – tells the stories of figures who yearn. "All of these characters succumb to some sort of temptation or disrupt a balance in their lives and are then grappling with the consequences or regrets of that decision-making," Zauner told @npr. Here’s more on Zauner’s own journey, from the pain of her mom’s death over a decade ago, her estrangement from her father, and more:

No spoilers, but damn "Cold Harbor" delivered and then some. So many standout moments. The way the episode ended, the show could conclude right there and still be a complete story, but since we are officially getting a 3rd season of Severance, I hope we don't have to wait too long for it.

"Snow White," starring Rachel Zegler, will be released this Friday. It's become an internet punchbag for conservatives, largely because of comments that Zegler has made over the past couple of years. First, she annoyed die-hard fans by referring to the 1937 movie as "dated" and the prince as "a guy who literally stalks" her character. Then, she drew criticism for her support of Palestine, while her co-star Gal Gadot attracted ire for her support of Israel. And finally, she posted on Instagram after the U.S. election to say she hoped Trump and his voters "may never know peace." Disney has responded by pulling back on some of its promotion for the movie — limited press at the L.A. premiere and no U.K. launch at all. So how will detractors and the House of Mouse feel at the news that the movie is... pretty good. Here's @THR's roundup of early critic responses. “Rachel Zegler is an absolute star," writes Matt DeGroot of Crooked Media.

"Adolescence," a four-part miniseries with each episode filmed in a single shot, landed on Netflix last week and is already one of the most talked-about and well-reviewed shows of the year. @BritishGQ looks at its gripping script, nuanced storytelling, superlative acting, and what it says about social media, incel culture and misogyny. "'Adolescence' might be fiction, but it's a sobering reminder of a very real threat posed in the social media age, when unchecked algorithms push sexist firebrands onto the For You pages of kids up and down the country: online prejudice can have terrifying real-life consequences."

Conan O'Brien is coming back next year as host of the Oscars, which will be held on March 15 2026. The 2025 ceremony, held at the beginning of this month, had the highest viewership in five years. “The only reason I’m hosting the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech.” O'Brien said in a statement, referring to Brody's best actor acceptance speech for "The Brutalist," which was the longest in Oscars history. Here's more from @Variety.

Beep beep beep! Is that the sound of the Apple TV+ money truck backing up to Jason Sudeikis's house? It must be, because the "Ted Lasso" star/co-creator has just confirmed a fourth series of the hit show. He told Jason and Travis Kelce on their New Heights podcast that Ted would be coaching a women's team this time round. Producers Warner Bros. TV picked up options for Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) last year in anticipation of the renewal, while Juno Temple (Keeley) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) are in negotiations to return. Here's @THR with all the details. What do you think? Are you excited for the return of the show?
