i'm alex, i'm a kitty ​​ who moved from poland to netherlands (living in Utrecht as of now) in september 2024 kind of by force

i speak polish and english, as well as trying to learn dutch (with little to no results though)

at the time of writing this i am no longer a neet woohoo ​​ i got a job

i usually draw things in my free time or endlessly scroll the internet for no reason. i collect plushies and keep them on my desk, as well as collect pokemon TCG cards.

i also gamed a lot, but nowadays i am trying to find motivation to boot up something else than osu from time to time

if i get the inspiration i work on static websites, most notably my personal site, dokokashira.nl (that needs to be updated asap because of how many outdated things there are

still morphing and trying to discover myself now that i have a proper environment to do so

i'm a trans gay guy and started my HRT on february 8 2025 ​​

i'm proudly disabled (HoH, AuDHD, C-PTSD, BPD et al) and i wish for a better world

Ok, so Intuit keep putting prices up for their Quickbooks software and I'm going to look for an alternative moving into the 2025/26 tax year.

My needs are tracking sales and expenses, invoicing, multi currency, and yearly reports.

They have recently increased my monthly cost from £33 to £39 and for how much use I make of it, I'm thinking there muse be more cost effective options out there.

help #indieweb people, I'm fiddling with adding different bits to my site and I am clearly missing something with the h-feed thing. If you're bored later I would appreciate it if you took a look.

I've been writing a new personal site from scratch. It's been a while since I've done a site design entirely by hand, without any frameworks to lean on.

It's been a lot of fun, and I've been honing my html5 and css3 skills - trying to do everything the *right* way. Making use of some of the more esoteric CSS properties I'd never bothered with before (like margin-inline or padding-block) .

I've made all the graphics myself using #svg (thanks #inkscape!).

I'm focusing on having a *microscopic* footprint, with minimum connections (one markup, one stylesheet).

this is it, folks! we are in the final week before submissions are due for GOOD INTERNET, a new print periodical magazine about all the things that make the #web fun: things like the #smallweb, the fediverse, the #indieweb, and efforts to actively fight #enshittification. submissions are open until MARCH 15.
