Taking a break from one kind of work — #writing — to do another kind — boat cleaning. With the temperature still chilly, I like to work on the boat when it's in the sun, which is between about 10 AM and 2 PM in my driveway this time of year. Photo shows the view from my desk.
The good news is, I have a solid weather window for taking it over the mountains on Tuesday. I can't wait to get it into the maintenance guy's hands.
3,500 words so far today. That was in less than 3 hours. Again, a lot of what I "wrote" had already been written in my blog. I edited yesterday's new content and inserted more. #writing #IAmWriting

March 20: What was the most writing-related fun you’ve had?
I like to mix real life with purely made up stuff. It's something to do with my philosophy that "everything is a fiction". Consequently, I will have real conversations or email exchanges (for example) which I then put directly into stories so that the fiction on the page before me becomes mixed up with "reality". It keeps it interesting.

I love #languagelearning. I studied #German and #Spanish as a kid, took #Japanese in uni, and I'm currently studying #ASL #Cree #Tokipona #Spanish and #Chinese. I also dabble in #French and #Latin sometimes and I'm learning #Greggshorthand to write faster. Cree is my favourite language and Spanish is my second.
I've been cursed since childhood with that lovely trifecta of #heds #pots and #mcas. Healing slowly but surely.

Going through old photographs and I believe this is Raglan Castle (I tend to binge castles on my visits to Wales).
I love the evocative old stairways and doorways into bare rooms, cool, damp and dark, but once filled with warmth and wealth. There is little left but echoes and whispers of the people who once walked these well-worn steps.
It’s all good fodder for my creative writing.

I did some more work on the book. I brought today's word count total up to 6200. I know that seems like a lot, but it was mostly importing the text of existing blog posts and trimming them down a little. I think I'll be able to do a lot more trimming in the morning. Here's the photo I finished up with: Sunset at Peoria IL on October 24, 2022. I don't think this photo will work well in the B&W print version of the book, but it'll be in the ebook. #writing #boating
